Reclaim explores the loss of connection with identity and the process of reconnecting with an authentic sense of self.

I am interested in moments of transformation — when something can no longer remain in its original form.

Reclaim grew from a period of questioning what remains of us when the version of ourselves we have built no longer feels entirely our own. The series reflects the process of losing and rebuilding a connection with identity — not as a return to who we were, but as an attempt to understand what is still ours and what we are ready to leave behind.

The paintings move through different states of this process: holding things together, feeling disconnected, confronting external expectations, creating distance and gradually making space for something new. Fragmented forms, interrupted gestures and areas of tension become traces of an internal process that is difficult to articulate in words.

I do not see this process as a clean transformation from one state into another. It is uncertain, uncomfortable and often contradictory. Some parts resist change. Others fall away. What remains is not necessarily a complete or resolved self, but a growing awareness of what feels true.

Reclaim is about that space between — between who we have been and who we are becoming, between what we carry with us and what we finally decide to put down.
